How do you go on stage alone when you're more ostrich than peacock? When you're scared to death... By creating characters who carry within them the hilarious daily tragedy of being you, and letting them speak for you.
Even if they're also scared to death. Like you do when you're worried about bringing up your child badly, ending up alone with a tin of ravioli or not visiting your grandmother enough at the old people's home. And as a result, our bottoms go "bravo", and it's funny, or at least I hope it will make you laugh. Now I'm worried.
