The World Music Festival returns for its 22nd edition, in Seine-Saint-Denis and in Greater Paris! Theme 2019: "Our Americas"Parade with Tropical Carnival of Paris / Stepping Out / Batucada Timbao / Junior Orchestral Fabrics
Beware of the tornado! The festival starts with a flourish, in a storm of brass, percussion and no dance. Through the Courtillières and the Maladrerie, a long convoy travels Aubervilliers towards his Fort. More than 200 dancers parade, mostly overtrained by participating in the Carnaval Tropical in Paris with their exuberant costumes. Their movements echo the beatings of beaten batucada Timbao, resounding ensemble of Afro-Brazilian percussion. In front of, behind, on the sides, rise the notes of fanfares such as Stepping Out and the Junior Orchestral Fabrics, these moving gatherings of crazy young people of the funk of New Orleans. One way to resist this powerful wave: follow the movement!
Soul Train evening
Do you know "Soul Train"? This US TV show, broadcast from 1965 to 2006, featured the biggest stars of the genre, from James Brown to the Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. If his spirit is invoked tonight, it is for his most memorable sequence, the "Soul Train Line": at the end of the show, the public formed two lines between which couples paraded while dancing. Their extravagant outfits, their choreographic inventions and the camaraderie that united these dancers remained etched in your memory? So, now is the time to go on the track. Accustomed to accompany artists of the stature of Tom Jones, Driss Farrio and his Soulbrothaz propose to guide your dance steps in Fort Aubervilliers converted into a giant nightclub: vintage decor, bright slabs on the ground ... Take your ticket, the train is at the dock. Attention to departure!
