Cultural ,  Dance at Saint-Ouen

  • An ode to the perpetual movements of walking

Songlines are paths, the "singing trails" of the aborigines.

These paths that crisscross the earth and whose cartography was transmitted by song and dance through the generations.

Joanne Leightonse's choreography unfolds in curves and spirals on the musical loops of Tery Riley's fascinating In C composition. The dance is fluid, a wave passes from one body to another, the dancers unite in a common ritual. The dance is generous, free and joyful. Hypnotic.
