This concerto begins with an evocation of the sound of the muezzin coming from the Mediterranean coast of the continent, then takes us through the blues of the desert to the Sahara, the polyphonies of the Pygmies, the ritual Bira ceremonies of Zimbabwe to the churches of Cape Town.
