Created in relation to this dance conference, the Matamatá trio takes as its starting point the book Catatau by the Brazilian poet and writer Paulo Leminski, a major work of 20th century Brazilian literature, which depicts the fictionalized journey of Descartes, father of modern thought, from the coast to the lush Amazonian lands and its questions in the face of uncontrollable and psychedelic tropical abundance.

Drawing on this fantasy story, Bruno Freire immerses us in the imagination of a humid forest, where the heat and thoughts of plants, minerals and animals insinuate themselves into us until they transform what constitutes our bodies.
