In this workshop, Laurie Agusti introduces the children to the combined techniques of stencil drawing and the so-called "crachin" technique, which consists of filling in a stencil shape by spraying paint with a toothbrush!
Playing with fullness and emptiness, bright colours and black & white, Laurie Agusti develops a universe that links supple lines and geometric shapes, which she knows how to adapt to a multitude of fantastic stories. In Un Matin, a child wakes up and does not recognise the world around him: the colours have disappeared in his room as well as in the whole city. Through a multiple-choice narrative, Jérôme Dubois and Laurie Agusti have imagined a journey into a child's memory, made up of memories of play, fear and pleasure, where colours gradually regain ground over the pages.
Taking the theme of memory as a starting point, each child is invited to draw a place of his or her choice with a black pen or felt-tip pens to create a narrative in several boxes, as in the book. Then, they are asked to integrate a memory into their decor, symbolised in the form of a stencil, in the range of colours they wish.
