Exhibition - Canal Saint-Denis, the tipping point of a landscape 2023

Since 2018, the beginning of the project "Canal Saint-Denis the rocker of a landscape", the director and photographer Sophie Comtet Kouyaté has been filming and photographing the banks of the Saint-Denis canal, a transversal territory struggling with a real upheaval of its physiognomy with Greater Paris and the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024.
She captures the urban landscapes, wasteland or under construction and captures the presence of the inhabitants, their appearances in these hybrid spaces where gestures, postures and gazes express a particular intensity, that of water, nature and the surrounding neighborhoods imbued with their industrial history and where temporality and rhythms differ from those of the nearby town.
