In 2022, Mellina Boubetra was invited by the SACD and the Festival d'Avignon to take part in Vive le Sujet! She created NYST with Julie Compans, an audio-describer. The principle of the piece is simple: accompanied by a musician, Mellina dances, oscillating between grace and tension, anger and sensuality, carried by Julie's words, which describe what she sees, precisely, delicately and poetically. Together they build a precious and unique duet that depends as much on movement as on text. They make what escapes resonate and let the invisible be heard; and the words dance while we close our eyes. A suspended moment...

INTRO

INTRO is Mellina Boubetra's first work, originally created as a trio and now performed by eight dancers.
Using a hip hop and contemporary vocabulary, they conduct a choreographic dialogue that dispenses with words, their bodies reproducing the dynamics of conversation (monologues, moments of unison, digressions). To the rapid tempo of a constantly evolving electro composition, identities are revealed, the space is charged with the multiple energies of the bodies, and the dialogue is woven into a joyous, communicative trance.
