    SINGS & PERCUS

Son of Reunionese who left the island with Bumidom in the 70s, Loran Velia founded Seksion Maloya a few years ago to search for his Creole roots and celebrate them in music. Mouvman Alé

    EXPERIMENTAL SOFT SONG

Mouvman Alé was created in 2016 by singer-songwriter Franswa Virassamy-Macé. With the texts and melodies of Franswa, the group plunges into the intense vibration of everyday life in Reunion, its encounters, its landscapes and its enigmas. Mouvman Alé is the result of a discussion between its musicians and Tetka (kayanm head), the character who masters the energy of the island and allows them to serenely integrate musical styles from elsewhere and gives them the feeling of thus reinforcing the universality of Reunion. To describe their music, the members of Mouvman Alé chose to speak in Reunion Creole, “non-galizé rényoné novels” and in French “experimental soft Reunion song”.
