    DENIS CUNIOT
Pianist, composer, storyteller and conservatory director Denis Cuniot is one of the main initiators of the French klezmer music revival. To date, he has released nearly twenty CDs, as a soloist, duo, trio or ensemble. From his first collaborations with clarinettist Nano Peylet to the Yiddish songs of Bruno Girard (of the group Bratsch), from the facetiousness of clarinettist Yom to the rock and punk playing of guitarist David Konopnicki, he has been exploring the fertile lands of klezmer music since the early 1980s. His aim: to give voice to a world that has disappeared forever, while imagining the possible developments that klezmer music could have offered if it had remained alive in its original territories. A tireless jack-of-all-trades, his unique piano playing is instantly recognisable.
