Ramazan Sesler: From father to son, a clarinet legend
Son of the legendary Selim Sesler nicknamed the "Coltrane of the clarinet", Ramazan Sesler perpetuates a unique style and a three-generation lineage that has marked Turkey and the Balkans. The refined breath of his clarinet takes us from delicate makams to the rhythms of the Balkans, and plunges us into the festive and sometimes melancholic atmospheres of the taverns of the Bosphorus. For the Seslers, music is a heritage and their destiny that of a part of Turkey. A family history that begins in Greece then, following the exchange of Greek-Turkish populations in 1922, continues in Keşan in Turkey, then in Istanbul and on the international scene. It is this journey and this lineage that illustrates the live project "From father to son, a legend of the clarinet".
BaBa ZuLa
A cult group from the Istanbul underground, BaBa ZuLa has been unpacking its earthy and incredible sound souk since 1996. This atypical combo makes the electric saz, the oud or the hectic derbukas bud in a sound experience that oscillates between oriental dub, lively rock or ageless electro-trad. Their eccentric shows are akin to truly extraordinary performances, a sort of ritual with hallucinatory virtues that paint a dreamlike portrait of the supercharged megalopolis of the Bosphorus. At the crossroads of East and West, the eccentric BaBa ZuLa make a Turkish Psychedelism, cosmopolitan and surreal, sparkle.
DJ Tagada
A key figure on the Electro World & Balkan scene, DJ Tagada explores the traditional sound of Central and Eastern Europe. Founder of the BalkanBeats Paris evenings, he leads the trance with popular dances and crazy farandoles. An independent artist, he collaborates with the Balkan diva “Rona Hartner” (Gadjo Dilo), Rwan (Java), Le Soviet Suprem and La Caravane Passe. His DJ sets are crazy, festive and synonymous with sharing. The dancefloor and electro-traditional sound revolution is him.
