Concert - Marco Ema

Hailing from Thetford Mines, between Montreal and Quebec City, Marco Ema is gradually making a name for himself on Quebec's independent music scene. The singer-songwriter released his debut album, Où nos corps s'en vont mourir, at the end of 2021, mixing pop influences on certain piano tracks that might evoke the melancholy ambiences of his compatriot Pierre Lapointe, with more rock melodies featuring guitar, reminiscent of The Strokes. The young man exudes an obvious freshness, and it's easy to want to join him in exploring the moment when adolescence fades and adult life begins. His pop, rock and indie aesthetic is also inspired by Lou Reed and the Artic Monkeys, with enveloping, rhythmic and bucolic melodies.
