Come and listen to the heartfelt cry of an Egyptian Sufi singer in love with freedom and justice, carried by the continuous breath of a saxophone and the organic strings of a cello.

Abdullah Miniawy, singer, poet and slammer, became the voice of Egypt's youth during the 2011 revolution, propelled to iconic status. His hypnotic lyrics convey the hopes of an entire people in the face of social, religious and political oppression.
Oscillating between spoken word and virtuoso singing, his undulating voice whispers, clamours and is enveloped in soaring atmospheric layers created by the marvellous breath of Peter Corser's saxophone and Karsten Hochapfel's baroque cello...Abdullah Miniawy, singer, poet and slammer, became the voice of Egypt's youth during the 2011 revolution, propelled to iconic status. A poetic, mystical and political musical experience. A strikingly beautiful encounter.
