  • In this exhibition, works of contemporary art, archeological objects and life stories of the inhabitants, lead a very particular conversation and provoke reconciliations of epochs and unexpected geographies.

You can discover works from the departmental collection of contemporary art as well as the Frac Île-de-France, and archaeological objects from the collections of the department and the archeology unit of the city of Saint-Denis.

Archeology is a science where the part of subjectivity, intuition of the researcher is present. Contemporary art has freed itself from scientific constraints, yet artists like protocols and rules, to possibly better divert them.

In both disciplines, questions of interpretation, representation and time are central.

The ConVersatoire's collaborative creations will also be showcased: this label values the intercultural practices that make up the Saint-Denis territory and puts into perspective a diversity that has been inscribed in the reality of the city for centuries.
