Tanguy de Saint-Seine was born in 1981. Lives and works between Le Havre and Paris
Following the professional changes of his father, Tanguy de Saint Seine grew up in several port cities, whose particular architectures marked his work as a sculptor. Between industrial infrastructures and urban habitat, all the construction of the city is oriented towards the sea, and thought for the sea.
Large central arteries, maritime sheds, holds with gigantic shapes in volume or in hollow, all these elements inspire Tanguy de Saint-Seine in its quest to represent the void, the space in the plane. The opening on the sky and the sea, proper to these port cities, is his first theme in painting. Large flat color, a game of disproportion of scales, a willingness already to change the landmarks.
After a plastic arts baccalauréat at the Claude Monet High School in Le Havre, he studied applied arts at the Ecole Supérieures Applied Arts in Roubaix.
Its workshop is located along the canal of Saint Denis, in this same city.
You are welcome to the opening of the exhibition on Sunday October 15th from 2.30 PM.
