Cultural ,  Festival ,  Concert at Saint-Denis
  • This classical music festival has got international fame by inviting the world's greatest talents for 50 years!

On the program tonight: Mahler's Symphony No. 7 entitled "The Song of the Night" in a new version for Joël Lasry's chamber orchestra (2017). With the orchestra "Le Balcon" directed by Maxime Pascal, Florent Derex, sound projection and You-Jung Han, solo violin.

After the Song of the Earth, the Song of the Night. The Seventh Symphony concludes the cycle of Mahler's three instrumental symphonies, at the heart of the composer's creation. As always, music is driven by an inner program that is like a journey to an unknown destination.

Popular melodies, fanfares, reminiscences of romantic flights and extreme modernity, the work oscillates and evolves in a fantastic and mysterious chiaroscuro, inspired by the lights of the famous Ronde de Nuit by Rembrandt.

The Balcony feels at home and takes these expressive and lunar sounds in a new transcription and sound projection of which he alone has the secret.
